Let’s talk about Bora Bora 🐠🌊🇵🇫

My now husband and I selected our honeymoon before booking our wedding back in 2006 – our destination of choice? The tropical, enchanting faraway islands of French Polynesia! Bora Bora was just one of our ports of call and very much had the wow factor that we had expected after having seen the brochure perfect images of this beautiful island.

We would love to visit this island again one day and here are a few of the hotels that not only we would consider booking, but recommending to you for your paradise island escape 🐢🌴

Four Seasons Resort Bora Bora is truly beautiful! Being one of the most luxurious resorts in Bora Bora, it is simply perfect if you like the finest hotels when you travel and wish to have the ultimate experience. The lead in rooms are overwater bungalows which are really spacious with a seperate living area – choose between a lagoon or mountain view a private pool is also available in some of the rooms. There is a beautiful lagoon that flows through the resort with a coral garden that guests can snorkel in – a lovely introduction for children who may feel a little trepidation about snorkeling in open water 🐠

The St. Regis Resort Bora Bora is the largest resort in Bora Bora and is spread out across quite a large area. All guests have access to a bycicle to easily get around. The style of this resort is very light and bright and it is a great option for honeymooners and for those planning on a longer stay on the island.

Intercontinental Thalasso Resort and Spa – the spa here is wonderful with an extensive menu of unique treatments.

Conrad Bora Bora Nui is located on the opposite side of the island to the other resorts so it doesn’t have the same views of Mount Otemanu and it is the only resort where you can experience endless lagoon views. The choice of dining here is fabulous as the resort has five restaurants, each of which offer different cuisines.

Le Bora Bora by Pearl Resort is a four star resort that has recently been renovated. This property is Polynesian owned and offers garden and beach villas with a private pool as well as overwater bungalows.

French Polynesia is best visited as a multi centre with some of the other islands – Papeete, Moorea or perhaps even the Cook Islands. The UK’s summer months tend to be a better time to visit in terms of weather, which is another reason why it makes a perfect destination for a honeymoon following a summer wedding. 🌴❤️
